Week #5: 9/7-9/12

I can't believe we are already entering into week #5! We have found a good routine, and the girls have been working very hard. It will be a fun week with another home meet on Tuesday and the West Michigan Relay meet on Saturday!

 

This Week:

Monday: Practice 6:30-8:30pm at the Hope College Dow Center

  • Address: 168 E. 13th St. Holland, MI 49423
  • Please plan on arriving around 6:15pm so that we can be ready to start practice at 6:30pm.

Tuesday: Meet day!!

Home meet vs. Spring Lake

  • The meet will take place at the Holland Aquatic Center.
  • Warm-up starts at 5:30pm. Meets starts at 6:30pm.
  • Please be on deck by 5:10pm for devotions.
  • We are looking for timers! Please sign up here if you are interested in timing. Thanks!

Wednesday: ETS 3:00-3:45pm, Pool 4:00-6:00pm

Thursday: **Morning Practice** 6:00-7:15am, Pool 4:00-6:00pm

Friday: ETS 6:45-7:30am, Practice 4:00-6:00pm (Swimmers)

  • Divers have the West Michigan Relay Diving Meet at East Kentwood High School.
  • Divers will be dismissed from school at 1:05pm. Coach Diane will meet you at the Park and Ride in Zeeland at 1:45.
  • Warm-up is from 3:00-5:00pm. Meet starts at 5:00pm.
  • **Football Cleanup after Game: On Friday, September 11, we are cleaning up after the Football game at HC. This will go fast with many helping hands!
Saturday: West Michigan Relays Swim Meet at East Kentwood High School

  • The bus will be leaving the high school at 7:45am. We will be making a stop at the Zeeland Park and Ride on the way to and from the meet. If you are planning on meeting us at the Zeeland Park and Ride in the morning, please be there by 7:55am so we can quickly pick you up! We will be making a stop there after the meet as well.
  • Warm-up is 8:30-9:55am. Meet starts at 10:00am. 
  • This is a relay only meet! Below are the relays:
    • 400 yd Medley Relay
    • 400 yd Free Relay
    • 200 yd Breaststroke Relay
    • 500 yd Progression Relay (50-100-150-200)
    • 200 yd Fly Relay
    • 400 yd IM Relay (4 x 100 IM)
    • 200 yd Back Relay
    • 800 yd Free Relay
    • 200 yd Medley Relay
    • 200 yd Free Relay

Looking Ahead:
  • Tuesday, September 15 - Away meet vs. Holland at the Holland Aquatic Center (6:30 start time).
  • Friday, September 18 - Football cleanup after the game at HCHS.
  • Tuesday, September 22 - Home meet vs. Mona Shores at the Holland Aquatic Center (6:30 start time).
  • Tuesday, September 29 - Home meet vs. Jenison at the Holland Aquatic Center (6:30 start time).

Football Cleanups:  Below are the dates our team will be responsible for cleaning up after the home football games:

Volunteer Opportunities: Parents, thank you to all of you who have signed up to bring snacks, time, make sack dinners, etc. We truly appreciate it! HERE is the link for the volunteer opportunities. We couldn't do it without you. Thanks!

Pop Can Fundraiser: We are collecting pop cans to raise money for our team discretionary funds. These funds are used for a variety of different things for the girls throughout the season. When you have money from the returned pop cans, you can give it to a coach. This fundraiser will run through September 30. The top three girls who raise the most money will get a prize!

Caps: If you are interested in purchasing a silicone cap, they are $10 a cap. Please bring cash or check to Coach Erica and she will get one for you. Each girl will receive one free latex cap.

Week #4: 8/31-9/4

We had another great week in the pool and on the boards! With our second meet in the books, our team is finding a rhythm with school, practices, and competition. We have another fun week ahead. Go Maroons!

Week #3: 8/24-8/28

What a great second week of practices! We had a busy week with practices, ETS, our team retreat, and the first meet of the season. At our retreat, we spent time talking about our individual and team goals and what we hope to accomplish together this season. Friday's meet was a fun way to kick off the season and complete alongside the teams in our conference. I'm so excited to see what this season has in store for our team.

 

This Week:

Monday: Pool (swimmers) 4:00-6:00pm, Pool (divers) 5:00-7:00pm

Tuesday: Meet day!!

Away meet vs. Forest Hills Central and Hudsonville

  • The meet will take place at Forest Hills Aquatic Center. The address is 660 Forest Hill Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
  • The bus will be leaving the high school at 4:15pm and we will do devotions once we arrive at the pool. We will plan to make a stop at the Zeeland Park and Ride. If you plan to go home between school and the meet and would rather meet us at the Park and Ride, please let us know in advance. Please be ready at the Park and Ride by 4:25pm.
  • Warm-up starts at 5:30pm. Meets starts at 6:30pm. 
    • Note that this time has been changed to 6:30pm start due to scheduling at their pool.

    Week #2: 8/17-8/21

    We are officially one week into the 2026 Swim and Dive season, and it's great to be back on the pool deck with the girls! We have another great week ahead of us with team retreat on Wednesday and our first meet on Thursday. Please reach out if you have any questions!

    **Please note that our ETS session was changed to Monday, August 17, due to a scheduling conflict. Swimmers will be lifting tomorrow right after practice from 9:15-10:00am.

     

    This Week:

    Monday: Pool (Swim) 7:00-9:00am, ETS (Swimmers only) 9:15-10:00am, Pool (Dive) 9:30-11:30am

    Tuesday: Pool 3:00-5:00pm

    • Athletic Parent Night at HCHS on August 18 at 7:00pm. The evening will begin with keynote speaker Sandi Haan, followed by a separate Swim and Dive parent meeting.

    Wednesday: ETS 9:00-9:45am, Pool 3:00-5:00pm, Retreat 5:30-8:30pm

    • On Wednesday, August 19, we will be having our team retreat at the Slenks' House (1733 Garden View Dr. Zeeland, MI 49464). The girls will go straight to the retreat from the pool. Parents, if you are picking your daughter up, please plan to arrive around 8:30pm from the address above. If you volunteered to take food to the retreat, thank you! You can plan on sending it with your daughter or you can drop it off at the house anytime before the retreat. Please reach out to Erica if you would like to drop it off early. We look forward to a fun evening together!

    Thursday: OK Lakeshore Duals Meet

    • The meet will take place at Hudsonville High School (3370 Allen St. Hudsonville, MI 49426).
    • This is a meet with all the schools in our conference (GR Christian, Hamilton, Holland, Holland Christian, Mona Shores, Spring Lake, and Unity Christian).
    • Warm-up is at 4:00pm. Meet start is 5:00pm. Swimming and diving will run simultaneously.
    • We will be riding on the bus as a team. The bus will be leaving the high school at 3:00pm. Please be there on time! As a reminder, we ride the bus as a team to and from the meet location.
    • Admission for spectators is $5 and can be paid with cash or card.

    Friday: Pool (Swim) 7:00-9:00am, Pool (Dive) 9:30-11:30am

      

    Final Forms:
    Please make sure that everything is completed and "green" in Final Forms. There are still some that need to complete the Pay to Play requirement. Thanks!
