The Week Ahead: 10/17 to 10/22

Important News/Notes
  • Hopefully, with the long-weekend and no school yet tomorrow, you'll all be plenty rested up to start the week!  It looks like the usual cool fall weather is here to stay now (no more 80-degree teasers...) so make sure you're staying bundled up whenever you're outside, even if it's just the quick drive to school or the pool!  At this point, we cannot afford to leave any health concerns to chance.
  • This is the last week that we'll be practicing together as a full team.  Next week, those who have not qualified for State will begin to taper for Conference, while the State swimmers will wait to taper until after Conference.  If you have no clue what the word "taper" means, be patient for another week; I'll explain in next week's post.
  • The calendar for this week is up-to-date, but there may be changes to the practice times for next week (10/24 to 10/29).  I'll let everyone know if there are changes; just be aware that they are not 100% for sure right now.
Tuesday (10/18)
  • Meet HOME vs. Hamilton.
  • Ladies on-deck at 5:15pm.  Meet starts at 6:30pm.
  • This is our last home meet, so it's also our Senior Night!  We will be honoring our four seniors and their parents at the beginning of the meet.  Senior parents, please be down on the pool deck by 6:20.
Friday (10/21)
  • Right after school, at 2:45pm, all swimmers and divers will report to the lecture hall to fill out coaching evaluations.  Once those are completed, everyone will head over to the pool.
  • Practice will go until 5:30pm
Saturday (10/22)
  • Pool opens at 7:15am.  We'll be in the water until 9:30am and then have pancakes.

  1. Ben, how long are we tapering?? Two weeks? Or a little less?

  2. About two weeks. Of course, you could also take the stance that "taper started on the first day of practice," in which case we've been tapering all along!
