The Week Ahead: 8.28 to 9.4

Be willing to be UNCOMFORTABLE.
Be comfortable being UNCOMFORTABLE.
It may get tough, but it's a small price to pay for LIVING A DREAM.

Phew...the first week of school is in the books! There was plenty of talk of early bed-times on Friday night, which I took advantage of too...the first week back is exhausting as we get used to our schedules, workloads, etc! However, that type of attitude–of knowing our stress and energy levels and being proactive with them–is exactly what we need to do as we're starting the school-year. As I've mentioned before, the more we can get into healthy routines and habits now, the better they will serve us come October when the grind really starts to wear on us.

With all that being said, we had a GREAT first week of school practice-wise. Our energy and effort levels were high throughout the week, which was really fun to watch, especially come our Friday and Saturday practices. We're setting ourselves up for a great Fall!

With this coming weekend being Labor Day weekend, there is no practice on Saturday. The Aquatic Center is closed on Monday, so we have an optional (highly encouraged!) practice on Monday down in Hamilton.

Team Apparel
  • Our team apparel (a long-sleeve Nike shirt) should be in soon.
  • The cost is $25, checks payable to Holland Christian.
  • If someone in your family worked the Herman Miller Picnic, your cost is only $15!

Here's the info for this week:

Tuesday 8.29
  • Meet HOME vs Otsego
    • Athletes need to be on-deck @ 5:15pm for devotions.
    • Warm Up @ 5:30pm. Start @ 6:30pm.
Monday 9.4
  • Practice @ Hamilton: 6:00 to 8:00pm.
  • Technically optional, but highly encouraged, and scheduled purposely to take place at the very end of the weekend. We have two meets that week, so getting this practice in is advised.
