2017 has been a year in which divisiveness seems to have won the day (or year). We live in a world and nation that is divided on so many issues and ideologies, more than I can recall in my lifetime. It would seem that the people we love and respect the most would be the least divisive places to be in and people to be with. Yet, as holidays with family can sometimes attest (at least mine could), that doesn't always hold true and we all play a role in both dividing and mending those divides.
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 1 Peter 3:8
As a team, we spend as much time together as a family and that takes on all the good and the bad that goes with it. My goal is to create a place where every member is valued and unity is magnified and divisiveness is diminished. In 2018, let's take that attitude from this team into our school, into our community, into our churches into our world. Let's not just talk about Jesus as the unifier, let's show it.
NEW YEAR'S RELAYS
We had a great time today with our annual New Year's Relays. It is one way our team has built unity over the years. If you can picture guys chugging eggnog between 25's, or trying to exchange wet tshirts between relay teammates, or swimming on a floating mat, or trying to swim feet first as fast as possible, you have a good picture of the Annual New Year's Relays.
The competition changed a little this year. Instead of two teams, we went with three. As usual, the competitions was fierce, but the Sheryls won with 18 pts and setting three new records in the process. The remaining teams (Toddles and Gunthers) tied with 15 points.
Though we don't have splits you can see the results and the records on the teams Top Ten page. Once on the page, click on the "New Year's Relays" tab at the bottom.

LOOKING AHEAD
Saturday, January 13th At Hudsonville - HOSTING the Division 3 Midseason Invitational: This is a meet we have hosted for several years and it has grown to be one of the premiere meets in the state. We have 11 teams joining us with about 8 of the top 10 Division 3 teams in the state. But we will need your help. Ben Herrman may contact you with some special task requests. Also, check with Renae VanAst to see if they need further assistance in the hospitality room, or with Theresa Asselin for timer needs.
