October 8-13

The brick walls are there for a reason.
The brick walls are not there to keep us out.
The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.
The brick walls are there to stop people who don't want it badly enough.
Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture

You are only as strong as the challenges you overcome.
Urban Meyer

As we enter into the second half of our season, the brick wall is a real thing.  The challenge is in how we deal with it.  Will we allow it to keep us out and to stop us because we don't want it badly enough?  Or will the brick wall be the chance we need to show just how badly we want it?

We definitely are in the "tired" part of our season.  Stay on top of homework, sleep and nutrition.  Sleep and nutrition are the keys to being able to get over that brick wall and show how badly we want it.  Focus on the little things that will help us overcome those challenges.

Here's a look at our week ahead...

Monday-
  • Practice (West)
Tuesday -
  • Meet at Hamilton.  The bus leaves the Aquatic Center at 4:45
  • Mrs. Asselin will meet all of us at the Aquatic Center at 4:15 for class pictures.  Decide with the others in your grade what you will wear.  Mrs. Asselin will meet you outside by the main entrance to the Aquatic Center.
  • Our Hamilton friends will be feeding us after the meet.
Wednesday -
  • Practice (instructional)
Thursday -
  • Practice (East)
Friday -
  • Practice (East)
  • Diane and Emily will be at the MISCA diving meet at Eastern Michigan.  This is a qualification only meet for the top 32 divers in our state.  Congrats to Em on qualifying - she is seeded 15th out of all the divers in the state (D1, D2 and D3)!  Areal Tolsma will cover Diane's practice for Natalie and Lauren.
Saturday -
  • Practice 7-9 am (TBD-should be East)
  • Pancake breakfast at the high school after practice.

PARENTS:  Our snack box is getting low again... please help us replenish by sending healthy (no peanuts or tree nuts) snacks to add to our box.
