“If you could get up the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.” ~ David Viscott
A GOOD FIRST WEEK AND THE BEGINNING OF THE REST OF THE SEASON.
The theme for our season is "Born Courageous." In a time of unprecedented challenges, our God calls us to have a spirit of courage rather than timidity. A swimming and diving season can teach a lot about being courageous. One aspect of courage is the idea of perseverance. As we conclude week one, it may seem a bit early to talk about perseverance, but it's never too early and it is never too often. Perseverance requires a level of courage that is often overlooked. Courage to face a difficult new dive or a difficult set. Courage to learn from your failure tot ry that dive or set again when the first time at it doesn't go as plan and results in failure.
The start to the season takes a great deal of energy for everyone and can seem very confusing, especially for this new athletes and parents. As for me, it is good to get the administrative details of the first week out of the way so we can get busy with what we are in the water and on the board to do. We have one more detail to attend to on Monday that will hopefully help parents feel a little more in sync with what is going on with the program. Check out those details below the practice schedule for the week.
Boys, thanks for how you've started this week. Thanks for your help at Benjamin's Hope as well.
Parents, thanks for the support you give our coaching staff and this group of young athletes.
