- We need to make sure we're doing everything we can to stay rested throughout the week. Get enough/extra sleep, and avoid adding any vigorous physical activities.
The meet days will end up being around 5+ hours long. Make sure you are bringing plenty of snacks, a water bottle, extra towels, and shoes for the deck. Please pack your parka and/or jacket for the meet as well. On Saturday, make sure to eat a good breakfast! This is so important and will help you to be fueled and ready to race/dive!
- All athletes who would like to wear a tech suit are welcome to do so, but they are not required. We will have some extras that athletes may wear if they do not own one.
- All athletes are required to be on deck on Saturday's session regardless if they are swimming or not. (There is more information about conference scoring below).

Thursday, 11/7: Pool 4:00-6:00pm

Friday, 11/8: Conference Prelims at Hamilton Middle School
- Dismissal: Swimmers and divers will be dismissed from school at 10:20am. Divers will be dismissed at 2:00pm.
- Lunch: The Brinks family will be providing food for the girls at their house on Friday before heading to the pool for warm-up. Thank you Brinks family!
- Transportation: Girls will be carpooling to lunch at the Brinks' house, and then we will head to the Hamilton pool for warm-up. If you would rather have your daughter ride with a coach, please let either Diane or Erica know. Girls will need their own transportation home from the meet.
- Missing Classes: Athletes will be missing some classes on Friday due to warm-ups starting at 12:00pm. You will need to communicate with your teachers AHEAD OF TIME to find out what you will miss, have to make up, etc. Work that is due on Friday will need to still be turned in on Friday, so make sure you plan ahead for that.

Saturday, 11/9: Conference Finals at Hamilton Middle School
- All athletes are required to be on deck on Saturday whether you qualify for finals or not.
- There will be no team transportation on Saturday. Athletes need to provide their own transportation and be to Hamilton before 9:30am for devotions. We will start devotions at 9:30am!
- Warm-ups start at 10:00am.
- Meet starts at 12:00pm.
Conference Championship Information:
Location: Hamilton Middle School

Dates: November 8 (Prelims) and November 9 (Finals)
Teams: GR Christian, Hamilton, Holland, Holland Christian, Mona Shores, Spring Lake, and Unity Christian.
Prelims/Finals for Individual Events:
- Our conference is split up into two days - prelims on Friday and finals on Saturday.
- For individual swimming events, on Friday, everyone will swim their two individual events and up to two relays. On Saturday, there will be three heats of each event.
- The last two heats (the scoring consolation and championship heats) will be made up of the top 16 swims from prelims, with a maximum of 4 athletes per team in the top 16.
- The first heat of each event on Saturday is a non-scoring bonus heat made up of the next 8 fastest times, regardless of team.
Relays: On both Friday and Saturday, there will be a heat of non-scoring B and C relays, followed by a heat of the scoring A relays.
Scoring Breakdown (descending by place):
• Relays (A relays only): 40, 34, 32, 30, 28
• Championship Finals (Top 8): 20, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11
• Consolation Finals (9-16): 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
• Note: If a swimmer qualifies for the Consolation Finals (9-16), but swims a time on Saturday that would make the top 8, she still receives 9th place.
Saturday Awards: On Saturday, there will be an award ceremony for the top 8 Championship Finalists from each event and top 3 A relays. This will occur after the completion of the next event.
- Stands open for spectators at 1:30pm. Admission is $5 for age Kindergarten and up.
- Swimming - Warm-ups for prelims will start at 12:00pm. The meet will start at 2:00pm.
- Diving - Warm-ups for prelims will start at 4:00pm. The meet will start at 6:00pm.
- Stands open for spectators at 10:30am. Admission is $5 for age Kindergarten and up.
- Warm-ups start at 10:00am.
- Finals will start at 12:00pm.
Looking Ahead:
Tuesday, November 12 - Second Shave Meet at the HAC at 6:30pm.
- This meet is one last opportunity for athletes to qualify for the state meet. All of our state qualifying athletes, along with others who may be close to the qualifying time in an event, will be swimming at this meet. Coach Erica will let you know if you will be swimming in this.
Friday, November 22 - State Prelims at EMU
Saturday, November 23 - State Finals at EMU
