The Week Ahead: 9/19 to 9/24

Quote for the Week

"Show me a man who cannot bother to do the little things and I'll show you a man who cannot be trusted to do big things."
~Lawrence D. Bell

After Monday's practice, ask your daughter how this quote is related to what we're doing in the water.

Important News/Updates

  • Ladies, as temperatures begin to drop and school is now full-swing, make sure that you are taking proper care of yourself.  Specifically, we're looking at sleep, nutrition, dress (make sure you're bundled-up enough!).  Parents, please help out by guiding your daughters in making these healthy decisions.
  • Thanks to those who helped out with the stadium clean-up after Friday night's football game!  We had a large crew, which makes it go quickly and spreads out the grossness that is picking up trash.  Our next and final clean-up is September 30th.
  • Our team sweatshirts came in, but were sent back because we got the wrong shade of pink.  Hopefully, we'll get the correct batch this week.  In an effort to recoup some of the printer's losses, the hot-pink sweatshirts will be available for sale.  They're great for moms or sisters, and could also work for manly dads and brothers who want to show their support for our team!  They have an intertwined HC on the back, above "Swimming and Diving 2011."  They don't state "girls", so they work for the boys' team as well!
Tuesday
  • Double-dual @ West Ottawa with Portage Central.  The meet will be scored as two separate dual meets.  Our meet with Portage Central will be close, so it should be a fun night.
  • School transportation will NOT be provided, so each athlete needs to find her own ride to the pool. See the Driving Directions page if you have not been to West Ottawa's pool before.
  • Time change! Athletes need to be at the W.O. pool parking lot by 4:40pm so we can have devotions and hop-in by 5:00pm.  Meet starts at 6:00pm.
Saturday
  • Doors open at 8:00am.  We will be in the water from 8:15 to 10:15am, then have pancakes afterwards.  Plan rides accordingly.

For those of you who have not seen or heard, I received a pretty cool apron on Saturday.  What an awesome gesture of appreciation!  It's the kind of thing that makes my job more than worth it.  Thank you!
