The Week in Review and the Week Ahead - 1/9

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Wow! What a great week! A great week of practices and great two meets.
Thursday's meet vs. Spring Lake as our best meet up to that point, Despite the loss. With so many great performances, it was hard to highlight just a few.

Here are the splits from that meet. You can see how much time some of our athletes dropped in that meet.

Not that Thursday wasn't great, but Saturday kinda' put it to shame. I was worried that guys weren't going to be able to get up for this meet. I didn't need to worry. This group continues to grow and improve and Saturday showed the direction we are heading as a team.

Saturday showed some amazing improvements. Across the board guys dropped time and our divers had their first opportunity to compete in an 11 dive competition. I was so proud of how all of our athletes handled themselves during this meet.

Here are the splits from Saturday's meet.

Though we lightened up just slightly on Friday, Wednesday was a tough practice for distance, stroke, and sprinters and a sign of where practices will be going as we start the 2nd half of the season.

THE WEEK AHEAD

This Week's Practices
Monday,Tuesday, and Wednesday  -  We go back to practicing from 3:30 - 6:00.

Tuesday, and Thursday - We have morning practices

Saturday - Normal Saturday practice from 8:00-10:00

This Week's Meets
  • Thursday, Jan. 12th Home Meet vs. Otsego - Athletes should be on deck at the Aquatic Center by 5:20.

  • EXAM WEEK
With exams next week, we are limited to two hours each day. You are still expected to be at practices. Practices will run from 3:30 and be done promptly at 5:30 for the swimmers.

During exams your school days are shorter, so use that time off as study time. The time in the pool is a great break from the books and the extra exercise will help your brain think clearer.

There will be NO MORNING PRACTICES during exam week.

We do have a home meet on that Thursday. Again, make sure you use the time after exams as a great time to study.
