D3 Invite Results

Each year, our D3 Invite has been a fun meet to host, both for our athletes and the other teams that travel for it.  It take a few more hands to run a bigger meet in that format.  Thanks to Tina Moralez for setting up our hospitality room, Michelle Hirdes and Art Tolsma for announcing, Julie Edewaard for getting all of our timers set up, and boys coach Todd Smeenge for being the overall meet manager.  And, thanks to everyone who timed!

Overall, we had some great results yesterday!  The depth we have for a D3 team was really showcased, with two of our B relays placing in the top 8 (and ahead of a couple other A relays) and a lot of our third and fourth swimmers getting into the Top 16.  All that led to our first win at our own Invite, which was certainly a fun accomplishment!

Beyond the overall results, this meet is a good check-up point during the middle of our season.  We had a lot of really solid individual results!  We saw positives from every single swimmer, even if that wasn't necessarily reflected in their overall swims.   This was showcased especially in the 100s for some of our younger swimmers.  We're working on taking out that first 50 faster, which many were able to do!  But, it can be surprising how much the back-half can hurt when it's swam correctly, which is what we now have to learn to fight through.

For our divers, it was their first chance to complete a full 11-dive list this season!  It also gives them more of a feel for what that format is like, which will be similar to Conference, Regionals, and State.
Here are our notable improvements:
