The Week Ahead: 9.28 to 10.3

Why treat training like a punishment?
Let's become great at something,
lest we suffer the fate of an ordinary existence.
~Paul Yetter (Olympic Coach)

As we're now solidly into the middle of our season, the term "grind" is applicable. The newness of the start of the school year and the start of the swim season begins to wear off, and now we're into more of a rhythm as we go throughout each week. And, as we get into better shape, that word "grind" can be applied to our workouts as well. But, how we approach each workout can tell a lot about what we're going to get out of it. Are we treating it like drudgery, like something we have to suffer through? Or, are we treating like an opportunity to improve, an opportunity to take another step toward our end-of-season goals...an opportunity to be GREAT at something? Hopefully, we can approach it with that second mindset!  We're about halfway through...still plenty of time to improve.

We still have a few fighting off illnesses. With Monday off and no practice this coming Saturday, hopefully we can use this week to get caught up on both sleep and our school work. Be intentional about how you're using your time!

Monday 9.28

  • NORMAL afternoon practice time, even though there's no school. Your teachers still have to work!
Tuesday 9.29
  • Meet HOME vs. Hamilton
  • Athletes on-deck @ 5:15pm for devotions.
  • Warm Up @ 5:30pm. Meet Start @ 6:30pm.
Saturday 10.3
  • No Saturday practice... :(
  • Sleep in and get caught up (or even ahead!) on your school work.
