First, let me say thank you to parents for managing to get guys to and from practices throughout the two week break. I also want to thank the athletes that were forced to get up even earlier than the normal school day during that break just to get beat down n the pool. Your consistency is appreciated.
As we see the end of week seven we are nearing the half way point of our season. We have made it through the less routine schedule of our Christmas break practices and activities and we reenter the more routine schedule of school and practice and everything else. Wait . . . we have Winterim!?
Next to our conference and state meets, this is probably the most "important" week of our season. We enter this week anticipating our invitational at the end of the week, yet we have to make it through one more change in routine during Winterim. Please read the next section for the most critical policy regarding Winterim and its impact on the team.
COMMUNICATE
Many of you have no idea what your Winterim classes entail and the teachers teaching them are going through this for only the second time and some for the first time. The main thing is that you communicate with me as soon as you find out about any unusual plans that may impact a practice or a meet. Communicate means that you email, text, call, send a carrier pigeon, or put up smoke signals. Whatever it takes. The sooner, the better. I can work through a great number of conflicts, but I need to know about them. So, communicate.
