Let's Get Things Started!!

“You usually have to wait for that which is worth waiting for.” – Craig Bruce

Well, I continue to hold my breath as the beginning of our season finally draws near. Right now, we are planning to start NEXT WEEK SATURDAY, Jan 16.

Below are some plans for the first week and a taste of the seasonal plan in general. Beginning today, most of my weekly communication will take place on this blog. You can also receive texts via by texting "@hchsswim" to 81010

FIRST PRACTICE:

• Saturday, Jan. 16 @ 8:45
• AT the HC Middle School.
• Have or wear workout clothes (no other equipment needed).
• We will begin by talking through some of the regular processes as we go through the season. (Practice time, Pool Check in, masks, lane assignments, etc.)

• BENJAMIN'S HOPE: After Practice (10:15ish) we will be heading to Benjamin's Hope to take down the decorations we put up in November.
• I could again use 4-6 Parents willing to help and will again need 4-6 people with step ladders.
• PARENTS - Please email me if you are able to help.

SEASONAL PLANS; Though there are lots of things that are going to look and feel different this season (we're kinda' used to that), there are things that remain the same.

• Saturdays: Though Saturday practices have always been part of our success, because we can't have them at the Aquatic Center and because our weekday pool time is limited, this year Saturday practices take on new meaning.
• Our Saturday practices will begin at 8:45 at HCMS almost every week.
• 8:45-9:40 - Dryland at the middle school.
• 10:00-12:00 - Swim/dive at Hamilton or West Ottawa
• I know it's a lot to ask, but on average we are losing about 2 hours of water or board time each week.
• Weekday Practices
• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
• Practices @ HAC will run from 3:15ish (when I arrive at the pool) to 5:30 on
• Wednesday
• Dryland @ HCMS 3:05-3:40
• Swim/Dive @ HAC 4:00-5:30

PARENT MEETING
Our parent meeting will take place on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7pm via zoom. You can find the meeting information on the team Calendar which can be accessed in the right sidebar.
