The first week of the 2024 season is under our belts! The girls are working hard, and we have such a great group!
We had a great time at our retreat this past week! We thought about team and individual goals for this upcoming season. They also wrote down habits they need to keep, build, and break in order to achieve these goals. We will continue to look back at these goals often and talk about what it looks like to be Christ-like competitors. We are approaching our first meet of the season this week. This Week:
Monday: Pool 4:00-6:00pm
**PARKA PICK-UP: With our meet approaching this week Thursday, we need the girls to pick up an HC parka from the high school on Monday. Parkas are worn at all of our meets. We were not able to mention this at practice on Friday, so this is new information for the girls. Instead of going right to the pool for practice, we are asking that they meet us at the high school at 3:30pm on Monday, August 19. Please meet us by the weight room where you have ETS. We will distribute the parkas to the girls and carpool to the pool. Parents can plan on dropping their daughter off at the high school, and we will make sure carpools get them to the pool. Thank you!
Tuesday: Pool 4:00-6:00pm
Sports Parent Night is Tuesday, August 20, at 7:00pm at HCHS. We encourage all parents to attend this event. The keynote speaker will be Chad Carlson from Hope College. We will have a parent meeting for the Girls Aquatics following the keynote speaker. It will be a great evening!
Away Meet - OK Lakeshore Duals at Hamilton Middle School
• Hamilton Middle School - 4845 136th Ave, Hamilton, MI 49419
• This is a meet with the schools in our conference (GR Christian, Hamilton, Holland, Holland Christian, Mona Shores, Spring Lake, and Unity Christian).
• Divers will be dismissed at 2:15pm (we will let the office know) and picked up by Diane in the drive by the main office. Swimmers will be leaving the high school at 3:00pm. Transportation details for the swimmers are still being finalized. I will let you know the details as soon as we know the plan.
• Warm-up will take place during diving. Diving starts at 4:30pm. Swimming starts at approximately 5:15pm (could change due to number of divers).
• Parents, admission for the meet is $5 cash or credit card.
Friday: ETS 6:45-7:30am, Pool 4:00-6:00pm

Tuesday, August 27 - Away Meet at Hudsonville vs. Forest Hills Central and Hudsonville at 6:00pm
Friday, September 30 - NO SCHOOL. We will have practice from 8:00-10:00am.
Monday, September 2 - The Aquatic Center is closed on Labor Day. We have been in contact with Hope College to see if we can have pool time at the Dow. They are trying to find a lifeguard to work for when our team would be there. Tentatively plan on practice this evening from 6:00-8:00pm. As soon as we have more information/confirmation, we will let you know.
Tuesday, September 3 - Home meet vs. TK and Byron Center at the HAC at 6:30pm.
Friday, September 6 - West Michigan Relay Diving Meet at 5:00pm
Saturday, September 7 - West Michigan Relay Swim Meet at 10:00am
