THE ROAD AHEAD 2025 LET'S GO!
I hope all of you had opportunity over the last two weeks to connect with family and friends, to get away from the routine and do something different, and to find some rest. With the colds going around, I think we all needed it. With the holidays on a Wednesday this year, it just seemed a bit weird (probably just me). I always get to this point of Christmas Break when I feel sad that it's over, but grateful for a return to the routine. Though the routine will be disrupted a bit with exam week around the corner (see the plan below), it is also the start of the road ahead. The end of the break also brings some time to race and time for fun events and team building.
CURT PALS INVITATIONAL (JENISON) - I'm not crazy about Monday meets because there is a tendency to be a bit flat after a weekend. That was the case Monday. However, we did have some really good swims mixed in. You can see the results on the results page.
GRITTY AWARDS - Among some great performances were Cam Rynsburger, Ezra Rozema, and Hugo Ledesma. Cam swam a lifetime best in the 100 Free, backed that up in the next event with a nice swim in the 500 and then another lifetime best swimming in the very next event the 200 Free Relay.
Ezra had a lifetime best anchoring the Medley Relay as well as in the 100 Back. Finally, Hugo also did back to back events swimming a lifetime best in his 50 Flyin the Medley and followed that up with a lifetime best 200 Free. Great job boys.
BREAKFAST & BOWLING - Our annual tradition is a great time together with a great breakfast following practice and some fun at Northland Lanes showing that we are all better in the water than with a ball.
NEW YEARS RELAYS - This annual event always brings out the best kind of rivalry and a great deal of teamwork and fun. This year the D1 Grinders and the Giant Nipple (a name I was assured came from the giant iceberg pool apparatus that was on the pool deck), had some great competition despite the final score. What I loved the most was the team spirit and camaraderie that came out of the guys during the competition. There was one new record set in this year's competition. Here are results and records
THE UPCOMING WEEK

Beyond conference and state, this meet is the biggest of the season. We have six or seven of the top ten teams in the state, along with other quality swimming and diving programs. This meet is limited to 4 individual entries per event, so some of our newer swimmers may only be swimming relays or just one individual event plus a relay.
Thank you in advance for all of your help with this event.
A Look Ahead
Exam Week (Jan 13 - 17) - We will have normal afternoon practices during Exam Week. No Dryland. There are no meets the week of exams this year.
- Athletes need to use their afternoons wisely. Take the time from 12:00-3:00 after exams each day, to study for the next exams. Take the time from 3;30-5:30 to give your brain a break, work your body and prepare for some additional study time after practice.
Martin Luther King Day (Jan 20) - We will have practice at HAC in the morning but details are still being worked out.
Meets
Thursday, Jan. 21 - Home vs. Grand Rapids Christian (1st in Conference Meet)
On Deck by 5:15

The meet starts at 6:30
