I'm still getting over the fantastic weekend we had. A championship is an awesome TEAM accomplishment, but it's the way in which we did it and the ways in which ALL of our athletes performed over the weekend.
I think this championship marks the first solo Conference Championship we've gained since joining the OK Conference. We shared one with Zeeland in 2023 when Zeeland DQ'd a relay in the Finals, and we shared one with Zeeland in 2018 when we DQ'd a Medley relay (a call that is still being litigated in the courts). Needless to say, this one has some special significance to me, and to do it at our
home pool made it mean even more. Thanks for the help making this a successful meet in many different ways.

Pictures - Here is a folder with a few pictures. If you have more, Please send them my way.
Full meet results and the season improvements for both prelims and finals can be seen at the Results Page. Most of these results are lifetime bests as well.
GRITY AWARDS - There were so many great swims this weekend, it made choosing Gritty award winners a little more challenging. However, there were a couple obvious choices. The first Gritty award winner is indicative of how the meet went overall. It goes to Will Heyboer (Right side of the first picture). Will was one of eleven athletes in the 100 Free to have season best swims, but Will dropped an amazing 6.05 seconds. The largest drop on the team. The Next three Grittys go to our new state qualifiers. Brayden Rynsburger got his state cut in the 100 Breaststroke and a near miss in the 50 Free. Jackson Busscher who, like Braydon, had a state cut and a near miss. His cut came in the 100 Backstroke and the near miss was the 200. Both of these guys are going for their near misses on Tuesday. Andrew Bengelink got his cuts in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle events. The final Gritty is actually a pair of awards that goes to Levi Rozema who broke is own breaststroke record and to Josiah DeVries who pulled out a fantastic swim in the breaststroke (just missing the Freshman Record) getting second. Both of these guys will be pursuing those records again in two weeks.
