Week #5: 9/8-9/13

We had another great week in the pool and on the boards! The West Michigan Relays meet was a lot of fun, filled with strong dives and exciting races. We're looking forward to another big week with two upcoming meets. Make sure you're taking care of your body by getting plenty of sleep. Go Maroons!

 

This Week:

Monday: Meet day!!

Away meet vs. Mona Shores

• The meet will take place at Muskegon High School.

• Warm-up starts at 5:30pm. Meet starts at 6:30pm.

• The bus will leave the high school at 4:00pm. We will meet for devotions at 3:45pm.

• We are looking into the possibility of doing a pick up/drop off on the north side, but waiting for confirmation from the HC Athletic/Transportation department. We cannot guarantee that this will work, but we're inquiring about it. I will email with updates.

Tuesday: Pool 3:30-5:30pm 

**Note this time change! We have to be out early due to scheduling with the HAC.

Wednesday: ETS 3:00-3:45pm, Pool 4:00-6:00pm

Thursday: Meet day!!

Away meet vs. EGR

• The meet will take place at East Grand Rapids High School.

• Warm-up starts at 5:00pm. Meet starts at 6:00pm.

• The bus will leave the high school at 3:30pm.

• We will plan on making a stop at the Zeeland Park and Ride on the way to and from the meet.

Friday: ETS 6:45-7:30am, Pool 4:00-6:00pm

Saturday: Pool 8:00-10:00am

• There will be breakfast for the team after practice at the Helms' house. Thank you for hosting!

Looking Ahead:

• Tuesday, September 16 - Away Meet vs. Jenison and Grandville at Grandville High School (6:00pm start time)

• Friday, September 19 - Football cleanup after the game at HCHS

• Tuesday, September 23 - Home Meet vs. Hamilton (6:30pm start time)

• Friday, September 26 - Football cleanup after the game at HCHS

Other Notes:

• Byron Center and TK Results: I am still waiting on an accurate results PDF to be sent from the Bryon Center and TK meet last week. Some of the times did not come in correctly and they are working to fix it. I will send that out when it is completed!

• Football Cleanups:  Below are the dates our team will be responsible for cleaning up after the home football games:

• Friday, September 19
• Friday, September 26
• Friday, October 10
• Friday, October 24

• Volunteer Opportunities: Parents, thank you to all of you who have signed up to bring snacks, time, make sack dinners, etc. We truly appreciate it! HERE is the link for the volunteer opportunities. We couldn't do it without you. Thanks!

• Pop Can Fundraiser: We are collecting pop cans to raise money for our team discretionary funds. These funds are used for a variety of different things for the girls throughout the season. When you have money from the returned pop cans, you can give it to a coach. This fundraiser will run through September 26. The top three girls who raise the most money will get a prize!

• Caps: If you are interested in purchasing a silicone cap, they are $15 a cap. Please bring cash or check to Coach Erica and she will get one for you. Each girl will receive one free latex cap.
