BACK TO REALITYI readily admit that Christmas Break isn't quit the break that many of your peers experience. So, I want to thank all of you, athletes and parents alike, that showed up for practices and meets, and put in significant effort in those practices and meets with a longer term goal in mind. Your work the last two weeks will pay off.
LAST WEEK
The week began with a meet at Jenison, This annual meet had some great swims, but Monday's are no one's favorite day and this is especially true when trying to compete. For several it took a good part of the meet to get up to speed. If you haven't checked out SPLITS in a while you can do so in the right hand banner. Just click on 19/20 Meets & Results.
We also had some fun this week. We finished the week with our annual New Year's Relays. Though all of the results were inadvertently erased before they could be copied for this blog, in the end the Gillian's narrowly defeated the Fiends 37-36. One record was set in the 2-Person relay where Blake Assink, Joey Grasman, Jonah Winkle, and Ben Catton set a new record swimming 1:17.66. You can see those records here (Click on the tap on the bottom).
THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE
Back to class....well sort of. IF you have an unusual schedule during WINTERIM, please let me know what is going on. Thus far I know of only one student who has an internship that may make him a little late for practices. If there are more, I need to know as soon as possible.
PRACTICES
Monday - Wednesday: Normal practice 3:20 - 6:00
Friday: Normal practice 3:20 - 5:30
Saturday: Practice 7:15-9:15
- Saturday's Practice will be followed by going up to Benjamin's Hope to take down Christmas decorations. I do need three or four parents with step ladders that could help on Saturday. This should be a relatively quick process but does need some organization. Please let me know if you have a ladder and can help.

FURTHER AHEAD
Saturday, January 18th: HOSTING the Division 3 Mid Season InvitationalBeyond conference and state, this meet is one of the biggest of the season. We have six of the top ten teams in the state, and six other quality swimming and diving programs. This meet is limited to 4 individual entries per event, so some of our younger swimmers may only be swimming relays or just one individual event plus a relay.
Thank you in advance for all of your help with this event.
Tech Suits - Here is some information about Tech Suits. As we get closer to the championship portion of our season, tech suits might be something that some may want to consider. I should have a team pricing list shortly.
